Early Life and Education

Expressing his artistic view through these words, Piano Artist & Lecturer Hakan Ekmen was born in Ankara. In 1979, he was admitted to the Ankara State Conservatory, Piano Department, studying with Prof. Nimet Karatekin. In 1989, he graduated at the top of his class, receiving both the Hacettepe University Science Encouragement Award and the İhsan Doğramacı Outstanding Achievement Award.

Artistic Development and Career

Between 1994 and 1996, he completed his Master of Arts at the Bilkent University with pianist Benal Tanrısever. In 1997, he completed his Proficiency in Art Program under Prof. Ersin Onay. With a broad repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the Romantic era, Ekmen continues to perform and contribute to the classical music scene.

Academic Career and Recent Work

He began teaching at the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in 1990. Pianist Hakan Ekmen currently teaches Piano, Piano Literature, Improvisation, and Ballet Accompaniment, continuing his artistic work through recitals, concerts, and workshops.
